We are now seeing an explosion of other rose from around the world as wine maker look to diversify there product portfolio. The primary grape varietals include grenache, syrah, mourvedre and cinsaut, which each bringing a different flavor profile. For example: Grenache brings creamy strawberries. Syrah brings punctuated spiciness. So each blend offers completely different characteristics.
WHAT SHOULD YOU LOOK FOR
There is a perception that Rose wine is sweet and sickly, but that is absolutely not the case. Rose on the whole is light and fresh and is perfect for the spring and summer. The best approach is to try various different roses and take note of what grape varieties are in the blends that you like.
